We will be moving XOOPS Websites this weekend (starting Saturday, May 2nd, 8 AM GMT) to a new server. In order to ensure data consistency, we'll close the Websites for that time.

We hope to re-open the the XOOPS Websites later that weekend.

Please be patient with us, and use SourceForge, as well as our XOOPS local support sites during that time.

As indicated year ago (read here), the XOOPS 2.3.x version is the last one version that is supported on PHP4.

Since PHP4 has been discontinued as of August 8th, 2008, and majority of Host providers offer nowadays PHP5, it's time for XOOPS to discontinue support for PHP4 as well.

This will help us to focus our resources on PHP5 development and to take full advantage of PHP5 features, which will benefit our users and developers. It will also help us to shorten our testing cycle.

Therefore, our upcoming XOOPS 2.3.4 will be the last release compatible with PHP4. However, we will make sure that it is a solid release, that will serve our users for many months, if not years, to come, if they need to keep it on PHP4.

XOOPS 2.4 that will follow, will be only tested and certified exclusively on PHP 5.2 and up.

We would also like to encourage everybody to start switching to MySQL 5.x, as pretty soon this will be also our standard supported configuration: PHP5/MySQL5

Many sites, in attempt to save their bandwidth steal images from others sites, placed links to images on their pages directed to other sites, where the actual images were located.

To protect your content from thieves, we made this module. This Module replace images if HTTP header field 'Referer' did not match with yours site URL. Module support white list allows for direct downloading by "freinds"( or search engines) IPs or domains listed in .htaccess file.

Features:
* Shows thieves sites, where your images are displayed as their own, but are physically located on your site.
* Shows page of referrer, where displayed images from your site are.
* Shows HTTP header fields of end clients who are trying to access stolen from your site images.
* On the fly, replaces requested file with antileech image(show them something like "This image was stolen from http://yoursite.tld...".
* Shows requsted file.

Requirements:
* HTTP server - Apache with installed module ModRewrite.
* Graphics library - GD.
* PHP version > 4.x.x

Thank you so much for the token of appreciation of my modest contribution in XOOPS Community!

It is nice that there are young charming ladies (Gesine Max) in this community, who wish to be engaged in XOOPS Innovations.

My answer, as always, is very simple - "Do not ask, what XOOPS can do for you. Wonder, what you can do for XOOPS".

Following this rule, here is my new two-columns collection for XOOPS under the conditional name "Japan" (ixt018).





From this collection you can look the first theme (ixt018_01) on a demo site of IXThemes Project. I hope you will notice in this theme "WOW!" effect which I try to use in the themes.

We've completed the move of www.xoops.org to our new server

We would like to express our deep appreciations to the staff of Surpass Hosting for all their help during the transition.



There are still some cosmetics to be done related to UTF-8, but in general, you should be able to use the server without any problems. If there are any issues, please let us know.

Now that we're done with the move, we'll be able to focus on fixing few things here and there, and then focus on redesign of the Website and improving the usability. Please provide us with your feedback in this thread

As most of you know, GuitarGearHeads.com has been using Xoops exclusively since 2004.

Since then we have been steadily upgrading and customizing. In the past few months, we have partnered with Instant-Zero to meet some demanding enhancements to current modules, as well as "built from scratch" modules.

We are currently proud of two significant upgrades to our site.

First, is a major spotlight enhancement of the standard News module. It allows for very sophisticated article layouts, including "most-recent" and "random" displays, with auto-sizing image tags.
